The Honeymoon's Over

Expect the unexpected, I guess. We cranked up Jordan's ACTH dosage back to what it had been a couple of weeks ago, but this time it's all different (so far). Last time she was a zombie & didn't have any side effects. As we weaned her, her blood pressure went up a couple times, her seizures returned, and she got crabby!

Now, after 4 days back at full strength, she's still seizing, she's starving, she's less interested in or able to nurse, her blood pressure seems to be on the rise, and she is crabby!! It's all relative, I know, because crabby for her is intermittent gasps and yells & tightening up, with some arching, but it still breaks my heart to think that she's unhappy or in pain. She has another EEG tomorrow and I'm worried that because the side effects are different this time, the results will be different (and therefore bad), too. As usual, we'll just have to wait and see.

The "crab-master Rowe," a name originally coined for Avery, but now it's interchangeable.
