Knock On Wood

The house is a disaster, over a week’s worth of mail sits scattered over the counters, Avery’s 3rd birthday party, for which I’m completely not ready, is on Saturday, somehow there were 4 loads of laundry to do today (already), my “new” laptop computer is jacked up, Avery is miserable with a cold & cough (I hope she’s better by the party), I had to have 2 junior high age fillings replaced today (ouch, and extra cold-sensitive too), the cat’s have decided that pine needles and ribbons are great fun to chew on, until they barf it up all over the house, and Devon will be up all night working on reports (after starting the day at 5:45am, including a site visit).

But, the big news is – the vacation did the binky trick! While in Indio Avery only asked for her ahhhhhh twice, and gave up quickly when I told her it was at home, safe on her bed (really it was in my carry-on bag, just in case). But for the last two nights that we’ve been home, she hasn’t even mentioned it. Last night we got home late, and she went to bed without her usual routine, but tonight I was sure she’d ask for it after a fully traditional bedtime routine. She even asked for a drink of water, and usually she has to take her ahhhhhh out to take a drink. And still no mention. Yippeeeeee!!

Now, everybody KNOCK ON WOOD!

WOW!!! Good going! The more we want to take it away, the more Jack wants it lately.
