I've been too cautious to really talk about it, but, knock on wood, here it goes: Jordan has been seizure free for about a month now! It seems like she's a different kid, or at least a kid we haven't seen for a very long time. She's awake, alert, moving her eyes almost tracking things, and most noticeably, chewing and sucking and using her mouth. When she's on her tummy she roots around and tries to get her hand to her mouth to suck on it. I think that the freedom from the seizures is letting her brain function a little more.
We've tried a number of things lately, most notably we increased her Depakene shortly before the seizures went away. We also recently tried Acai, and saw a temporary reduction in seizures, but then they bounced back, so we stopped using it. CoQ10,which we started in September, might be responsible for some of the increased alertness, too. Of course she's still on Keppra & Tranxene for seizures, too, and I'm sure she will be for awhile -- why mess with success?!
We've had seizure free periods in her life before, but they've always slipped away. However, now that I have seen what she can do and who she can be without them, it's going to be even more important to me to keep them at bay! We'll take every moment we can without those damn seizures.

I am so glad to hear that Jordan's seizures are under control right now. I know that that was a big deal with Scotty, when we finally found the right meds levels for him.
Seizures would crop up as he grew and the meds needed adjusting... but he has been seizure free for a long time now, and we don't have to go in for blood tests like I remember having to do often when we were children.
I'm very happy for you and your little girl. Thanks for sharing.
WOW! That is excellent!!
