Ups & Downs

Jordan ws doing GREAT this morning, and went for 3 hours in the morning, and 6 hours midday without any oxygen. This brought us to the verge of heading home, but since late afternoon she's been back on the 'OOOOs'. She still has some serious mucuos issues, so now I'm not sure if we'll be heading home tomorrow or not. I hope so, it would be oh-so-nice to be home for the weekend. It's a bit disappointing to think that we might not get out of here tomorrow, since I had started thinking that we would. But, on the other hand, neither Devon or I want to take her home until she's ready & we're comfortable that she'll be able to breath & cough well enough to take care of herself. As with all things Jordan, its a fine balance.

But, as her doctors have said since the beginning, its just a waiting game at this point. They consider this a completely typical progression, and do not seem worried. This RSV stuff can be brutal, and just needs to run its course. Only time will tell.

As for the EEG, the results are still out until sometime next week, after the neuro has a chance to look at it (all 44 hours, boring!). Her EEG has never been normal, but since her Infantile Spasms were controlled (~1 Aug 2006), there's been no seizure activity, so that's what we're hoping for.

And the best news of all: Not only is she getting her crabbiness back (a sure sign she was sick), she even smiled 3 real smiles today! Big toothy grins. I really needed that!

Now, if they just had an urban retreat spa package for parents, I could really do with a massage (bad cots!), and a pedicure, too (just because). I just can't find a nurse to comply. What about my needs?!?!?
