Like Father, Like Son

So, what does it take to get to open for The Police? As we arrived & listened to the band, I thought it was just sounding like The Police that qualified the openers. But I guess it doesn't hurt to be Sting's son (Joe Sumner) either. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear much of Fiction Plane, and wasn't paying too much attention to what I did hear (still in dis-belief that we actually made it to the concert). But just like they hoped, opening for The Police has opened me up to giving their music a try. I just read the band bio on their web page, and was impressed that Sting wasn't mentioned once -- even in the "musical history" section.
