With the concert in the middle of last week we still don't seem to have recovered. We had a busy weekend at home (Devon was swamped with work he needed to get before his crazy travel-week this week: Seattle on Sunday night (drilling all night), Medford (southern Oregon) on Tuesday, Seattle again today, and then, Seattle again on Friday (although it sounds like he's possibly maneuvered out of that one).
Grandma Linda and grandpa Earl were planning a trip down here for the week anyway, and managed to pick up Devon in the RV on Monday morning so he could sleep on his way home. What a treat for him! They've planned dinner for us for the whole week (yeah), took Avery to the zoo yesterday, and played with her all day today at the park & around the house. She's in heaven, although last night at dinner she announced "gee, it sure would be nice to be in Canada again." I just love her expressions these days.
Nana Noma joined us for dinner last night, and is supposed to be resting a bit, but I doubt it. She's still recovering from her broken pelvis, although you'd hardly notice considering how busy she keeps herself (out in her yard, too). She's still talking about weeding her garden and picking her peas, even though she needs to keep off her leg so it can heal. But there's no taking it easy for her! She can still "chase" after Avery, but taking care of Jordan is much more difficult because she's so heavy & has to be lifted and carried all the time. So with a house full of grandparents, Jordan's getting lots of snuggles, and there are lots of hands to help pass her around.
Oddly, Avery seems to be a little jealous these days of ANY kid, including Jordan, her cousins Heidi & George, nana Noma's neighbors, taking the grandparent attention away from her. I'm sure, like all things, it's just a phase. . . . She's always been so good at sharing them before!
