Happy Halibut

Oops, I mean Happy Birthday. Friday was nana Noma's birthday, so we celebrated with a little "dinner" party. Usually on Friday nights we have pizza, but special for nana Noma, I made her a halibut fillet (with some fancy recipe I got off the internet), with a cheesy merangue topping. I made sure we had enough pizza to cover in case it was gross, but she seemed to like it, and actually ate the whole thing. Of course it was a little too exotic for Avery & me, so we ate the pizza instead. Then it was her favorite for dessert -- strawberries (over angel food or pound cake). Avery insisted that we each get a candle and blow it out, instead of just the birthday girl.

Nana had to jump up and run to the table to get to be a part of the unwrapping. Avery just dove right in! Avery insisted on using nana's new gardening stool as part of her car, then they drove to Canada! Some flowers, and a rock, especially by Avery. Because nana's garden doesn't have enough rocks already. . . .
