We are 4!! We are 4!!
Kate got to open her almost-finished birthday sweater -- I took it home and finished it up right after this.
Nana Noma made Kate a pair of pajamas, and somehow Avery got a pair, too. The only difference: Kate's has a butterfly sewn on the front (she loves butterflies), while Avery has a fish on the front of hers
Off to bed. Normally they do very well on sleepover nights because they're so tired by bed time they can't stay awake & be naughty. This night was different. As soon as Avery laid down she started coughing, so neither of them could sleep. When all was said and done, Kate moved down to the bottom bunk, then Avery moved into our bed, then Kate moved to the top bunk (and finally fell asleep around 11:30pm -- ugh!), then Avery barfed all over our bed once, and her bed twice. Nothing like 4 loads of laundry to do all night, and into the next morning. Oh, yeah, and the baths at 1:00am. Anyway, it was not a great sleepover night, and everyone was exhausted for our busy day of school & a playdate at the park with Heather & Katie the next day!
Kate trying on her sweater for the first time. Note: real cotton shrinks -- alot -- in a hot drier. Good thing it mostly shrank in length, so she can use her hands while wearing it. The 4 power girls, ready for school on merely a couple hours of sleep! Matching shirts. . .
. . . coordinating sweatersThe girls were so tired that they were taking breaks from playing on the equipment to take power naps on the picnic blanket. Here's Avery being as brave as she can be with Piper. One year old and still a puppy at heart! Heather & Katie were happy to join us on such a wonderful, sunny day
