"My Baby"

What a sweetheart our little Avery is. She begs and begs to stay over at nana Noma's for a slumber party day in and day out, and about once a week we're willing to give her up & nana's willing to take her for the night. Yesterday we stopped by in the afternoon for a quick visit, which led to a full-on screaming tantrum when we all had to leave.

Today nana offered her a slumber party & we agreed. Jordan has feeding group in the morning, and that way Avery would be with nana Noma while we're at the hospital. So without looking back she ran to the PT Cruiser, eagerly anticipating an exciting evening with nana & Daisy, (nana's fluffy white kitty that actually lets Avery pet her). Movies, treats, and heaps of individual attention awaited.

But right around bed time we got the peculiar call: Avery wanted to come home!?!? This has certainly never happened before! You see, Jordan's been pretty sick (coughing and barfing) all day, and she wanted to come home and "take care of her." She calls Jordan "her baby," and is very protective of her. When she got home there were big hugs and kisses for all of us, and she was relieved to see Devon holding Jordan, trying to comfort her cough.

Now that she's here, I hope she's able to sleep through the coughing. Us too. . . .
