Giant boxes, in our basement, giant boxes, filled with cabinets (sung to the tune of the Weeds theme song!)
Unwrapping the goods -- Cherry, Shaker style, with Peppercorn finish
Starting with the bathroom

With a little help from grandpa Earl
Now, for the fixtures, and then we'll finally have a bathroom again!
Now the big one -- my office

No, they aren't that crooked, it's just a trick of the camera
Working on the frame for the hot-water heater closet
Avery gets in on the action. Shim, shim, shim
Almost all done, just a few things to anchor
The doors waiting to be installed

Leaps & Bounds
The tiling in the shower is done, just in time for the cabinets that came in on Thursday. Devon called a couple of contractors, both of whom were booked for the next few weeks, then made a bold decision on his own: DIY! Armed with a Home Depot book on construction and the instructions included with the cabinets, Devon set out to install them himself. If you've ever tried installing cabinets you probably know, as we do now, that it is a monumental task. And in this house, with these old walls, it's a shim show all the way. Level, screw, shim, level, screw, shim. Measure, measure, measure.
