Flashing & Banging

Fireworks were out in full force on Friday night for the 4th of July celebrations. Except for a few sparklers, we skipped buying any fireworks, as they'd been blasting off around us for a week & Avery was not a fan. In fact, she told us, that she didn't like any fireworks that had fire or made noise. So, we didn't buy any.

But our wonderful neighbors shared theirs with us late in the evening. Sean (age 7) liked the sparklers, Sarah (almost 4) was willing to try them when her brother was doing them, sometimes, but Avery was not game! When it got dark Galen lit off the big ones, and even though Avery was afraid of them as they were lit, she decided that she did like them when they were bright & colorful & high up in the sky.

Sarah & Avery found safety in Devon's lap while Sean played with the sparkers
